Kansas Child Support Guidelines (effective January 1, 2016)

Staff of the Office of Judicial Administration staff are prohibited from giving the public legal advice, help with legal research, or help interpreting Kansas Child Support Guidelines. If you have questions about how the guidelines apply to your child support case, contact your attorney.

The Kansas Supreme Court revised the Kansas Child Support Guidelines by Administrative Order No. 284 issued October 8, 2015. The revised guidelines apply to orders issued on or after January 1, 2016. Child support guidelines established prior to January 1, 2016, pursuant to Supreme Court Administrative Order No. 261, apply to child support orders issued through December 31, 2015.

The newly revised child support guidelines do not impact existing child support orders. Child support orders only change when a judge issues a new order. Until a judge issues a new order, existing orders remain in effect.

Below are links to a final version of Administrative Order No. 284 and a strikeout version that shows changes that will occur January 1, 2016. Also below are links to the final report from the Kansas Child Support Guidelines Advisory Committee, the economist's report and addendum, and survey results.
